The NPTO is a volunteer organization of parents and educators from North Elementary who want to support North to continue to be a wonderful place to learn, grow, have fun, and work! We do this by volunteering our time inside and outside of the school building, fundraising, appreciating, supporting, and advocating for our students and staff!

Staff Appreciation Week is coming!
Our North staff spends over 𝟏,𝟐𝟔𝟎 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 caring for our kids each school year—let’s show them how much they’re loved and appreciated this May!

After 33 years of teaching 1st grade at North, Mrs. Sue Ferguson is heading into retirement—and we’re putting together a special project to celebrate her!

 Multilingual Family Night is coming to North! Join District 47 for an exciting and interactive evening as we celebrate 20 years of our Dual Language Program! 🎉 Multilingual Family Night is all about community, culture, and fun—for the whole family. This exciting event will take place at North Elementary on Wednesday, May 7th from 5–7 PM.

✨ Enjoy live music from a bilingual band
🌮 Grab dinner from the taco truck & Kona Ice
🎲 Play games and join engaging activities
📚 And every student will take home a free book!

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Huskypalooza Chair

    Lead the planning and execution of North Elementary’s biggest year-end celebration! As the Huskypalooza Chair, you’ll coordinate activities, food, and entertainment, working with vendors, volunteers, and school staff to bring this exciting event to life. This role is perfect for someone who loves organizing big events and creating memorable experiences for students and families.

  • Family Night Committee

    Help bring North Elementary families together by planning fun and engaging events! From dine & share nights to skate parties and movie nights, this brand-new committee creates opportunities for families to connect and make memories. Come with your ideas and be part of a team that plans special events for our school community!

  • Husky Quest Chair

    Lead the planning of North Elementary’s biggest fundraising celebration! As chair, you’ll coordinate event logistics, work with sponsors, organize volunteers, and help bring this exciting event to life. This position is open for the next school year—be a part of making Husky Quest a huge success!

  • Quest Crew 2025!

    Join the team that makes Husky Quest happen! Quest Crew volunteers help run activity stations, assist with event logistics, and support setup and takedown. Flexible shifts are available throughout the day—our sign-up will be live soon! Click below to let us know you’re interested!

  • Spirit Wear Chair

    Lead the effort to bring Husky pride to our school community! As Spirit Wear Chair, you’ll manage sales, track orders, and collaborate with the publicity team to promote spirit wear throughout the year. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys organization and school spirit!

  • Wee Deliver Committee

    Help run North Elementary’s student-led mail system! Volunteers assist with scheduling 4th and 5th grade postal workers, organizing mail, and keeping the Wee Deliver Post Office running smoothly. This fun and engaging program teaches students responsibility while fostering school connections.

  • Supply Box Chair

    Help make back-to-school shopping easy for families! This committee works with teachers and vendors to coordinate pre-packaged school supply boxes, ensuring students have everything they need for the year. Volunteers assist with pricing, ordering, and sharing information with families.

  • Author Visit Committee

    Bring the excitement of reading to life by helping organize author visits and One Book, One School (OBOS) events! This committee works with teachers, the librarian, and administrators to plan engaging experiences for students, from selecting books to coordinating volunteers and preparing schoolwide activities. Be part of inspiring a love of reading at North Elementary!

  • STAR Reading Volunteer

    Make a difference by sharing the joy of reading with students! As a STAR Reading volunteer, you’ll spend quality one-on-one time reading with children—including your own—helping to build confidence and foster a love of books. Volunteers can sign up weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly—whatever fits your schedule! Some classrooms need extra support, so consider helping where you’re needed most.

  • Board Member at Large

    Join the NPTO Executive Board as a Committee Member at Large! This role gives you a voice in decision-making, voting power, and the opportunity to contribute ideas, offer guidance, and support NPTO initiatives. It’s a great way to get involved, make an impact, and help shape the future of our school community.

  • Bi-Lingual Committee Member at Large

    Help ensure all voices in our school community are heard! This Executive Board position is for a bilingual volunteer fluent in Spanish, providing representation and support for our dual-language families. With voting power and a seat at the table, you’ll contribute ideas, offer guidance, and help bridge communication between the NPTO and our Spanish-speaking families.
