Our Committees

  • Staff Appreciation

    The Staff Appreciation Committee is dedicated to showing gratitude to the incredible teachers and staff at North Elementary. From monthly appreciation activities to coordinating Teacher Appreciation Week in May, this committee works to ensure our staff feels valued throughout the year. By organizing events, meals, and thoughtful gestures, we celebrate the hardworking individuals who make our school a great place to learn.

  • Wee Deliver

    The Wee Deliver Committee brings the magic of mail to life for North Elementary students! This committee oversees the student-run post office, where 4th and 5th graders collect, sort, and deliver mail within the school. From organizing schedules to creating fun monthly themes and letter templates, Wee Deliver fosters connection, creativity, and responsibility for students while spreading joy throughout the school.

  • STAR Reading program

    The STAR Reading program lets you spend quality one-on-one time reading with students—including your child! This is a wonderful way to foster a love of reading and get involved in the classroom. Our team works with teachers to coordinate schedules and ensure a smooth experience for both students and volunteers. Interested in helping? We'd love to have you!

  • Book Fair

    The Book Fair Committee helps bring the joy of reading to our school while raising funds to support literacy initiatives. This team works with vendors, organizes volunteers, and manages the setup, operation, and takedown of the fair. Whether hosting an in-person or online event, the committee ensures a seamless experience while providing students and teachers with access to valuable books and resources.

  • Garden Club

    The Garden Club at North is an after school program meeting twice a month during the regular growing season.

    Students need to have an adult present with them when attending, it is led by parent volunteers. The Club meets at the school garden!

    The goal is to give access to any student that would benefit from working in the soil, learning about gardening/farming, hands-on experience with where food comes from and being outside in our community.   • Starbucks

    The Starbucks Committee supports positive behavior and student achievement through the school’s reward system. This team coordinates prizes, manages the prize cart, and collaborates with staff to provide exciting rewards for students each month. By organizing redemption days and keeping everything running smoothly, the committee helps make hard work and good behavior fun and rewarding for our students.

  • Huskypalooza

    The Huskypalooza Committee plans and organizes one of North Elementary’s biggest school events! From coordinating activities to recruiting and managing volunteers, this team ensures a fun and well-run celebration for our school community. Want to be part of the planning? Join us!

  • Spirit Wear

    The Spirit Wear Committee helps our school community show their Husky pride! This team coordinates spirit wear sales, typically at the beginning of the year, ensuring families have access to fun and stylish apparel to represent North Elementary.

  • TAP

    The TAP (Teacher Assistance Program) Committee helps support teachers by completing classroom prep tasks like making copies, laminating, sharpening pencils, and assembling materials. Teachers submit requests, and volunteers work throughout the week to get them done. This is a flexible, behind-the-scenes way to make a big impact!

  • Author Visits

    This committee brings literacy to life by coordinating author visits and the One Book, One School initiative. From selecting books to organizing events, volunteers help create exciting reading experiences for students. Tasks include working with teachers, preparing materials, and coordinating event details. Love books? This is the committee for you!

  • Husky Quest

    Husky Quest is North Elementary’s biggest fundraiser, and this committee handles everything from organizing fundraising efforts to planning event-day activities. Volunteers help manage sponsorships, coordinate prizes, prepare materials, and ensure a successful celebration. Whether behind the scenes or hands-on at the event, there are many ways to contribute!

  • Outdoor Classroom

    This committee is dedicated to creating a unique outdoor learning space for North Elementary students. From planning and design to gathering resources and coordinating volunteers, we’re working to bring this exciting project to life. If you’re passionate about hands-on learning and enhancing our school environment, we’d love your help!

  • Student Directory

    The Student Directory helps families connect by providing a secure, organized way to share contact information. This committee collects and manages data, ensures accurate distribution, and improves the process each year. If you’re detail-oriented and love organizing, this is a great way to contribute!

  • Field Days

    The Field Day Committee plans a fun and active day for students to celebrate the end of the school year. From organizing games to coordinating volunteers and equipment, this team works closely with staff to make the event a success. If you love keeping kids moving and having fun, this is the perfect way to get involved!

  • Art Volunteer

    This committee brings art into the classroom by organizing three creative lessons per year for all grade levels. Volunteers develop projects, coordinate supplies, and support students in exploring different artistic techniques. Whether you love art or just enjoy helping in the classroom, this is a fun and engaging way to contribute!

  • Parent Group Advisory Council

    PGAC serves as a bridge between North Elementary PTO and the district, meeting with district leadership to discuss school-wide initiatives and share updates. Representatives attend meetings, take notes, and report back to ensure strong communication between our school and the broader district community.

  • Birthday Book Club

    The Birthday Books program makes sure every student receives a special book in celebration of their birthday. Volunteers create book wish lists, manage inventory, and coordinate with the school to distribute books throughout the year. A love of books and a little organization go a long way in making this program a success!

  • Savers Fundraiser

    This committee organizes our Savers donation drive, turning gently used clothing and household items into funds for our school. Volunteers coordinate logistics, distribute information, and promote the event to maximize participation. A great way to support North Elementary with a simple and impactful fundraiser!

  • 5th Grade Celebrations

    This committee plans a special send-off for our graduating 5th graders, including a celebratory breakfast and other memorable activities. Volunteers help organize the event, coordinate donations, and ensure a fun and meaningful experience for students as they prepare for their next chapter.

    Publicity Committee is dedicated to spreading the word and keeping our school community informed and engaged. Through impactful communications, event promotion, and community outreach, we strive to connect families, staff, and supporters with the mission of North Elementary PTO.   • New Family Welcome

    This committee helps new families feel at home at North Elementary by providing essential information, spirit wear, and a warm welcome. Volunteers prepare welcome folders, coordinate with office staff, and ensure families have the resources they need to get connected. A great way to make a lasting first impression!

  • Supply Boxes

    This committee makes back-to-school easier by coordinating pre-packaged school supply boxes for families. Volunteers work with teachers to determine supply needs, partner with vendors for the best pricing, and ensure ordering information reaches families. A simple way to help students start the year prepared!

  • All School Tee-Shirt

    Every student at North Elementary receives a school spirit t-shirt, and this committee makes it happen! Volunteers collect student sizes, coordinate orders, and organize distribution to ensure every child gets their shirt. It’s a fun and simple way to build school spirit and unity!

  • Book Room

    This committee helps keep North Elementary’s book room organized and accessible for teachers and students. Volunteers shelve books by reading level, update labels, and ensure materials are easy to find. A great way to support literacy and classroom learning behind the scenes!
